A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR THE PEOPLE OF BACOLOD!!! 30 September 1999 To My Dear Friends in Bacolod, What can I say?  What is it with you people from the South that makes me love you all so much?!   I will never forget how very warm and welcoming you all were when I visited you from August 26th to the 29th.  Thank you so much for your show of love and support for me and my cousin Ciara Sotto, the MegaBand, and the whole group from Artist House.  I was especially touched by those of you who patiently stood under the heat of the sun waiting for our motorcade to pass your way. I didn't expect you all to be so excited and to receive us all with open arms.  I was floored by the way you guys swarmed all over our van and, I am still feeling warm all over by your smiles and waves and shouts of "We  love you"!  The DJs at the radio stations I visited were so accommodating and supportive,  and true to Ilonggo form, sweet and "malambing" like all the rest of you. I have always loved visiting Bacolod (mainly to have quiet holidays and visit friends), but this visit in particular turned out to be the most special because it was the first time I performed for you, ever, in all my twenty-two years in the business, and you didn't let me down.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart again, dear friends.  You are such a special people (and you have such great food!  I didn't think twice about staying off my diet a little bit longer because of the Chicken Inasal and the Napoleones, and all your goodies!), and I do hope to visit you again soon and perform more special numbers for you!  Thank you for your letters, your flowers, your kind and encouraging words.  Thank you to those of you who waited (again, patiently!) for me in the lobby of the L'Fisher Hotel, outside of the hotel, the radio stations I visited, outside the auditorium.  Thank you for being a great audience during the show!  You hold a very special place in my heart, and the evening of the 28th at the St. La Salle will always be etched in my memory.
