SHARON WRITES STARLIGHT

"For many years, I had wanted a song just like this one—with a breezy, light feel to it—but no one would make one for me! I guess they were all concerned that my songs had to be in the ‘Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas’ mold, and so I had to just sit down and come up with one that I felt my younger listeners could appreciate. And I call it "Starlight" the megastar Sharon Cuneta reveals of her decision to write her own composition.

"Starlight" is the second single Viva Records is releasing from Sharon’s "When I Love" platinum album (Mega Music label). Sharon’s album became no. 1 in the Tower’s Top 10 best-seller and it’s still in the topchart.

Sharon’s first single "Both Sides Now" is still very hot on the airwaves but the numerous request for new single could not just be ignored.

Sharon is pretty excited about ‘Starlight.’ She quips: "It’s my song! It’s a simple love song and my arranger (Cezar Aguas) arranged it so that it would sound just as dreamy as I’d intended it to. And I was playing around the recording session with KC that I asked her to do a counterpoint to my singing. We decided in the end (after much thought) that we were going to make it a bonus cut, just for posterity. Sorry—never intended for it to be a selling point. And this is just about as far as KC goes in recording!"

"When I love" has other potential hits, you’d surely fall in love with "Kahit Kailan," "Doors", "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You," "Give Cry A Try," "Love and Give," "Fly" "Mahal Pa Rin Kita" (her first Tagalog composition) and "After All" which she dedicates to her beloved husband, Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.
