"Nothing I Want More" is a
collection of hit songs from the '80s featuring songs like Overjoyed, Careless Whisper, Don't
Forget Me, It's Only Love, a medley of Even Now and Somewhere Down the
Road, Please Don't Ask Me , He's Out of My Life, Smile Again, Maybe, Lift
Up Your Hands, and a soft rendition of The Promise.
This very special album took a little over a year to complete. When I started recording for it, I was trying to lose weight and praying for a baby. I was also shooting my movie, "Minsan, Minahal Kita," and about two months after that played in the theaters, and just when I had reached my ideal weight and was happy to be back in "fighting form," I found out that I was pregnant! I couldn't do much then save for my weekly television show, "Sharon," and gained back all the weight it took me a year and a half to lose!
Looking back, and now that this album is about to be released, I find that I had to endure more upheavals in several areas in my life in the past year than ever before. I lost my beloved father in my sixth month of pregnancy, and if you know how much I've adored him, you should have a pretty good idea of how difficult it was for me to cope. Nothing much mattered to me after that, except my then unborn child. Now I can't say that I've recovered from the pain of losing him, but I find that I have much to be thankful for. As always, my Lord has proven to be faithful.
I am trying to lose weight again (have already lost some), and more than the movie I am looking forward to doing in a few months, or this new album, I am happy that my most prayed-for gift has been given to me. That is of course, my new precious baby girl, Simone Francesca Emmanuelle - whom we all call "Frankie."
I managed to complete work on this album two months after Frankie's arrival, and what you have in your hands is the outcome of a most memorable year in my life. Thank you for joining me in this moment.
