As it had been eight years since Megastar Sharon Cuneta and action superstar Robin Padilla last teamed up for a movie, their fans could barely wait to see their reunion movie Pagdating Ng Panahon.

True to form, Cuneta and Padilla's fans stormed the theaters on Monday to watch the premiere of Viva Films' romantic caper. Cuneta said she was overwhelmed by the turnout at the movie premiere's venue.

"There were so many people. We went to the three theaters in SM Megamall and decided to stay there briefly for security reasons," said Cuneta in an interview over radio dzMM Tuesday.

Reports said the presence of the film's lead stars caused a stampede among moviegoers and kibitzers.

Padilla, meanwhile, said that Pagdating ng Panahon will surely melt the hearts of the audience as its love story is "deeper" than his and Cuneta's last two movies.

He said that a cute kissing scene, among other memorable sequences, is worth the trip to the movie house.

Cuneta and Padilla said they are keeping their fingers crossed that the success of their reunion movie would pave the way for more good news to the ailing local movie industry.

The two starred in the romantic films Maging Sino Ka Man (1991) and `Di Na Natuto (1993), which broke box office records.
