SHARON AND ROBIN'S ROMANTIC REUNION
by Ricky Calderon, ABS-CBN News, September 13, 2001
Megastar Sharon Cuneta and action star Robin Padilla are reunited
in Pagdating ng Panahon, a Joyce Bernal film written by Mel Mendoza del
Rosario. It will be one of the anniversary presentations of Viva Films
this November. Filming of the movie began Thrusday . This is the third
time Sharon and Robin are collaborating on a movie since doing
Maging Sino Ka Man
and 'Di Na
Natuto, the latter released eight years
ago.
Sharon was her usual bubbly self when she and Robin met with some
members of the entertainment press during the movie's story conference
held Monday night at the Viva office. Robin, on the other hand, became
somewhat tongue-tied with the constant ribbing he received from the
Megastar. He did get to say how thrilled he was to be doing this movie
with Sharon.
The Megastar returned the compliment, adding that she had been
looking forward to this reunion as she has become close to Robin. She also
said that following her back-to-back work of daunting dramasóViva Films'
Nang Iniwan Mo Ako and Star Cinema's Minsan Minahal Kitaóit was a
nice change of pace to be doing a light romance, a fun
movie.
Sharon also announced that she will be having a concert tour in
Japan next month, with shows in Nagoya on October 5, Yokota Base on
October 6, Shizouka on October 7, Ginza Tokyo on October 8, and Osaka on
October 9.
The Megastar is also making a rare dramatic appearance in ABS-CBN's
Maalaala Mo Kaya, which will be broadcast this coming Thursday. Titled
"Yaya's Boy," this rare outing reunites her with Patrick Garcia, who
played her stepson in Madrasta.
As for
Pagdating ng Panahon, it is a love story that should warm the hearts of
Sharon-Robin fans everywhere. It's a different kind of love story,
however, insist writer Mel del Rosario and director Joyce Bernal.
