SHARON CUNETA & RICHARD GOMEZ: REUNITED IN STAR CINEMA LOVE DRAMA
ABS-CBN Interactive, February 11, 2000

Sharon and Richard Love is lovelier the second time around. Well, the fifth time around if we're to speak of the Sharon Cuneta-Richard Gomez team-up in a film.

With much enthusiasm, Star Cinema, home of quality movies, brings back the most admired and most bankable love tandem of recent years in a love story that is bound to surpass all others in this season of hearts.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta reunites with one of her favorite leading men Richard Gomez to recreate the magic of romance this time in an Olivia Lamasan opus on forbidden love titled Minsan, Minahal Kita.

Sharon and Richard paired in at least four movies, Buy One, Take One, Kahit Wala Ka Na, Ngayon at Kailanman, and Kapantay ay Langit. They also figured in a real-life love affair which, although short-lived, spiced up their on-screen alliance.

Minsan, Minahal Kita (the title may as well allude to their past relationship) likewise marks the reunion of Sharon with her director in Star Cinema blockbuster, Madrasta, which gave the Megastar a grand slam Best Actress in 1996.

Minsan, Minahal Kita brings to the fore a younger love team pivotal to the story, Marvin Agustin and Kristine Hermosa, of ABS-CBN Talent Center. Through them, the Sharon-Richard love affair of the past unfolds in the present.

Dianne (played by Sharon) and Albert (Richard) are a pair of anguished souls tapped in a dysfunctional marriage with their respective spouses. Their paths cross as destiny dictates. Albert, a construction company executive, becomes a client of Dianne's whose firm conduct human resources development seminars. Eventually, they fall in loveÖforbidden though it may be.

Like all illicit affairs, theirs is invariably fulfilling and frustrating, the latter outweighing the former especially as pressures from their respective families grow. Until Albert's wife discovers the infidelity and is forced to make a choice between Dianne and his family.

Albert favors the latter, no matter how much he wanted to keep his mistress. Dianne's world crumbles. What are her remaining options?

The answers are revealed in the end through Marvin and Kristine, the present's link to the past. Just who are these youngsters? How do they figure in the lives of Dianne and Albert? Rest assured Minsan, Minahal Kita will not keep moviegoers hanging.

Minsan, Minahal Kita also stars Carmina Villaroel, Angel Aquino, Edu Manzano and Rosemarie Gil.
