SHARON, BOYET TOGETHER AGAIN

Theyíve made a number of movies in the past, but itís only now that Sharon Cuneta and Christopher de Leon are totally comfortable working together. ìI think weíve done about nine movies,î Sharon said, counting them with her fingers: ìBukas Luluhod ang mga Tala,î ìWalang Karugtong ang Kahapon,î ìMadrasta,î ìBituing Walang Ningning,î ìTatlong Mukha ng Pag-ibig,î ìBabangon Akoít Dudurugin Kitaî and three more, Sharon said.

ìImagine, we did more movies together than me and Gabby (Concepcion) and me and Richard (Gomez). But he never talked to me, not until our fourth movie together. Ang supla-suplado niya,î the megastar revealed on the set of her and Judy Ann Santosí first teamup movie, ìMagkapatid.î (The movie megged by Joel Lamangan for Viva Films has Christopher de Leon in the male lead role.)

To which Christopher retorted: ìPaano naman kita kakausapin eh napakaseloso ang asawa mo? At saka in love na in love siya noon kay Gabby.î Boyet recalled that in one of their movies, they had a little kissing scene and Gabby had it edited out. ìSmack lang yon, ah,î Boyet teased Sharon.

Although they were not yet friends then, Boyet noticed that Sharon was very fond of doing crossword puzzles on the set of their movies. ìWhat I can finish in hours she can do in just seven minutes, walang biro!,î Boyet said. Sharon said sheís been doing crossword puzzles for years now so she has gotten used to it; it has become so easy, she said.

Like in their past movies, Sharon finds great excitement in being teamed up again with the multi-awarded actor. ìEver since I saw him in the movie ëKasal,í which paired him with Hilda Koronel, and which was the first directorial job of Laurice Guillen, Iíve become a big fan of Christopher de Leon,î the megastar confessed. ìI thought then that he was the perfect man and I thought it would be great to work with him. And we did worked together, and everytime, there is always something to learn from him, from his intensity as an actor...î Sharon said.

Sharon has worked with Joel Lamangan in the past. ìThe last movie I did with him as director was ëKapantay ay Langit,í in l994. And if I believed in him then, 10 times akong believe sa kanya ngayon. Mabilis siyang magtrabaho but heís really good,î she said.

Christopher, on the other hand, last worked with Joel in ìBulaklak ng Maynilaî which earned a number of awards, including Best Actor for the actor.

In ìMagkapatid,î Sharon plays the role of a doctor (OB/Gyne) and Judy Ann, her a spoiled, happy-go-lucky younger sister with two children. ìI have only one child in the story,î Sharon related. ìAnd I couldnít bear another child anymore.î When he dies, because of Judy Annís negligence, their relationship changed. Not only theirs but their whole family. * * *
