It was a two-day celebration for Kristina Cassandra ìKCî Cuneta Concepcionís debut and the first one, on her birthday itself, April 7, she and her family (Senator Kiko Pangilinan, Sharon Cuneta and sister Frankie) were joined by the media for cocktails and dinner at The Tent at the Fort Bonifacio Global City. KC wore a haltered pantsuit by Sari- Sari, KCís own design. The second party, which is the real debut party with all the trimmings (except for the traditional cotillon de honor which KC nixed) was held the following day, also at The Tent. This time, her family, relatives, close friends and her parentsí colleagues, associates and friends were with the debutante. KC wore a gown by Joe Salazar. The Tent sported an Enchanted Forest motif (it was what KC wanted, said Freddie Santos who emceed the short program) and on the first party on April 7, rapper Francis Magalona performed for her. Another rapper, Picasso, joined Francis M. on the last song. From the way she smiled and joined the beat with body movements, KC enjoyed the performance. After which, amid an Enchanted Forest backdrop, on a makeshift minibridge, the debutante answered questions from the media. Her plans for the next five years? ìTo finish my education ó thatís a must ó to work and do what I like most to do (something to do with communication). Iíd like to get married eventually and have my own children, but that wonít happen till Iím 29,î she said. Now that sheís 18, ìI can go out with my older cousins,î from the Gamboa side with whom sheís very close, she said. As to what her momís best advice to her is, KC said ìthereís nothing really specific but sheís always told me to pursue my dreams and do the best I can in everything I do.î She referred to Senator Pangilinan as ìmy dad,î and she described him as someone very responsible, who put family his top priority. ìHe inspired us a lot and he put our lives in order, not that it wasnít before; he is also strict but for the right reasons.î Her ideal man, the one sheís like to marry someday, would have to be someone like him, she said. ìIíd like a man who gets along with my family, who is loyal and faithful and responsible.î KCís biological father, Gabby Concepcion, called her on the eve of her birthday to greet her, but there wasnít much to say, she said. She was shopping then. The party ended early (with two-year old sister Frankie who KC said she loves too much singing a few lines from the song ìTomorrowî) because KC did not want to miss school the following day. Sheís a senior high school student at the International School in Makati. She might go to Paris for her college education.
