SHARON AND KIKO EXPECTING A BABY GIRL

QUEZON CITY, (ABS-CBN) - Megastar Sharon Cuneta will give birth to a baby girl four months from now.

The popular actress-singer's recent ultrasound scan revealed that the five-month-old baby in her womb is a girl.

Sharon and her husband, broadcaster-lawyer Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan are elated that she has survived the critical first trimester of her pregnancy.

The couple reportedly held a baby shower over the weekend with their close friends.

Sharon's first two pregnancies by Francis resulted in miscarriages.

Her desire to have many children prompted her to shed more than 58 pounds late last year, a move that worked in her favor professionally as well.

Last April, the "mega couple" found out the actress was pregnant and Sharon happily stopped dieting. The happy news spread like wildfire and prayers that Sharon would successfully make it through her third pregnancy haven't stopped since.

Francis, the excited would-be first-time father, had asked his wife to turn down offers for film projects and concerts and just maintain her ABS-CBN talk show until the time she needs to take a maternity leave.

Sharon and Francis tied the knot in a simple wedding ceremony in April 28, 1996.
