SHARON CUNETA, megastar: I think the key to anyone's success is to find out what God has put you here for, what your gifts are and then make the most of them. I also measure success not only in terms of how much I am able to accomplish, but in how many lives I am able to touch in my own small way. Of course, the obvious elements come to mind - I do what I love, then love my work well (this way, it loves me back). I work real hard and don't do anything half-baked. I try my best to look out for other people and not step on anyone else's toes to get what I want or where I want to go, no matter how tempting it may be because what goes around comes around. An enormous faith in God does wonders in all areas of my life, and to hold on to the faith is sometimes difficult, but in the end rewarding. I've also learned never to let any kind of success go to my head. There is already enough competition in my chosen field and the last thing I need is to compete with my own large out-of-control ego! But I do compete with myself. It's healthy and keeps me on my toes, so that I do not become complacent. I also have found that a lot of it has to do with having the right attitude. I don't understand why some people don't get it. Truly! It's important to me to keep on learning, from other people as well as myslef. I never think I know enough, or worse, that I know everything! And of course I save as much as I can, but also give myself a treat every now and then so that I may enjoy the fruits of my labor! I take good care of all that I have been blessed with because I realize that all this is on loan from the good Lord, so all that I do, I do for Him. I believe it is my responsibility to be a good steward of His gifts. That constantly keeps me in check.
