"I have a delicate pregnancy, so I'll just do my show ('Sharon,' the Sunday night talk show on Channel 2) every week, just like when I was pregnant with Frankie," explained the mother of two girls, 18-year-old KC Concepcion and 2-year-old Frankie Pangilinan. In 1997-1998, Sharon also took time out from show business and lived with her husband in Boston, while he studied for a master's degree in public administration at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. A year later, Sharon got pregnant with Frankie, who was born in December 2000. But before her new self-imposed slowdown starts, Sharon and her husband, Sen. Francis Pangilinan, will fly to Paris to help KC settle down in her new school, where she will be a college freshman. "We're looking for a place where's she's going to live," Sharon said Tuesday afternoon at the launch of the "Kabarangay sa Dental Health" campaign of Colgate toothpaste, which she is now promoting. "We'll try to figure out who could stay with her for the first couple of weeks or months. "We're not yet sure if she'll finish her whole four-year course in the same school or country, so there's a chance we might go to another place after the first year or so," she added. "It's really up to her. We just want the best education for our children." She said she and her family would be with KC in the French capital for a month. When she comes back home to Manila, she will promote her new movie, "Kung Ako na Lang Sana," with Aga Muhlach, who'll be her leading man for the first time. She's also in the cast of the Metro Manila film festival entry, "Crying Ladies." Sharon was again asked about following in the political footsteps of her father, the late Pasay City Mayor Pablo Cuneta. "When my father was still alive," she said, "he used to tell me, I'm not requesting you to run, I'm commanding you to run. "All these years, I've been happy with what I do, that is, entertaining people. And I've always believed that you can help people and make a difference in their lives even if you're not in public office. "'Every time an election is approaching, or every time there's talk that I or another show biz star is running for public office, you'll notice that certain politicians suddenly issue a statement," she added. "Hindi ka pa nakapag-announce, sinisira ka na. If they're so affected by the news that I might run, maybe there's something to it. Maybe I should think about it. But I'm not finished thinking about it." She stressed that she's "happy with what I'm doing" in show business. "And you know what, I have no desire for power. Nakakapagod na rin kasi ang pamumulitika nila. Ang gulu-gulo na nga, sana magtulungan na lang tayo." A few weeks ago, incumbent Pasay Mayor Peewee Trinidad was quoted in news reports as saying Sharon, who happens to be his godchild, should live in Pasay first before even thinking of running for office in the city. "If I were close to my Ninong (Trinidad), I'd probably even support his projects," Sharon said during the Colgate campaign launch. "'Pag may ginawa kang mabuti, hindi mo naman ma-blame kung isipin ng ibang tao, Ah, gumagawa ito ng ganito para iboto."
